As a Utility Operator, you will be responsible for ensuring the sanitation and cleanliness of sections of the facility and learning the basics of flour milling. People who successfully adapt to the work environment, job duties and safety culture of Ardent Mills will be considered for promotion into other roles as they become available in the grain elevator, bulk department or mill. This work requires physical exertion, the ability to learn and follow work instructions, a good safety sense, the willingness to do whatever it takes to deliver, and a strong sense of personal accountability for all of these areas.

Pay: $19.50/hour  $5,000 First Year Sign-On Bonus

1st shift. Weekends are required.

*This Full-Time role will work 40 hours per week primarily day position, and it is preferable that the employee be available to work evenings and weekends if needed for coverage.

Your responsibilities:

  • Routine cleaning of floors, equipment, roofs and outside grounds.
  • Operate Track mobile for safe and effective railcar movements.
  • Perform rail car prep activities which include removing any trash or debris from car exterior, removing old seals, and hatch covers, brushing down interior walls, and vacuuming any residual flour from railcar.
  • Specialized cleaning tasks such as bin cleanings, sifter inspections, and filter sock changes.
  • Basic process maintenance.
  • Follow personnel and equipment safety policies, food safety policies and sanitation procedures.

Essential skills and experience:

  • Proficient in computer tools, including email and spreadsheets.
  • High School Diploma of GED.
  • Proficient in English both written and verbally.

Physical requirements and working conditions (with or without reasonable accommodation):

  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Able to work in a dusty environment and wear respiratory protection.
  • Ascend and descend stairs throughout the facility.
  • Able to climb step and extension ladders.
  • Able to wear required Personal Protective Equipment.

Other considerations:

  • Must be willing to accept accountability and work well in a team.
  • Must be willing and able to work weekends.
